Unlocked Party
Are you single. and ready to mingle? If so, The Ladies Active 20-30 Club is
hosting a singles event on Saturday, February 27, 2010. It will be a
singles mixer, but with a twist! Men will be provided with locks and women
will get keys. The locks and keys will serve as a conversation ice breaker;
just approach a person with opposite hardware and find out if you have a
match. Each key will unlock two or three locks. Every time a match is made
both people will turn in their hardware to receive a raffle ticket and a new
lock or key, to begin the search again. The more matches you make the more
chances you will have to win a raffle item at the end of the evening.
When you meet someone you are interested in you are free to ask for contact
information from that person during the event. Also, each person will be
given a number during registration; so if you a little shy about asking for
the 'digits' just make note of whose contact information you would like and
turn it in at the registration desk at the end of the event. If that person
also turns in your number your contact information will be exchanged via
e-mail by the Ladies in the Active 20-30 Club.
The event will be held at the Surface Gallery located at 1703 20th Street;
doors will open at 6:30pm for cocktails and the event will run from 7:30pm
to 10:00pm. The cost for the event is $20.00 per person, which includes
your entry into the event.
There is limited space for the event! It is important to pre-register for
the event by completing the registration form. If you chose to show up the
night of the event without pre-registering we cannot guarantee you a spot at
the event - although we will do our best to fit in all interested people!
There will be a fully stocked bar at the event with drinks starting at
$3.00! The event is for people all ages, 21 and over and you must be
legitimately single to attend the event.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: How does a Lock & Key Event work?
A: The Unlocked Event is just like a regular happy hour, but the lock and
key will serve as an ice breaker. Once you check in and receive your lock or
key, you're free to approach whomever you like, whenever you like, for as
long as you like.
Q: How many people will attend the Event?
A: There is limited space for this event! The maximum capacity is 100
people, 50 men and 50 women.
Q: What's the typical age range of people who attend?
A: The event is open to all people 21 and over.
Q: I'm going! What do I wear?
A: There is no dress code for this event, just dress to impress!
Q: What do I do when I "unlock" with someone?
A: Congratulations! Once you find a match to your lock or key, you then walk
over to the registration table and exchange your old hardware for a new lock
or key. You will also receive a raffle ticket for the raffle at the end of
the night. The goal is to make as many matches as possible to get more
raffle tickets. The more tickets you have, the more chances you have to win
prizes!
Q: What if I meet someone that I like?
A: We hope you meet several people that you like! You're free to ask for or
hand out contact information on your own. When you check in, you'll receive
a small Contact Card on which you can write down phone numbers, names, etc.
Also, all attendees will have a number. If you are a little shy about
asking for contact information, keep note of the persons number you are
interested in and turn it back into the registration table at the end of the
night. If the person turns in your number too then you will receive that
persons contact information via e-mail from the Active 20-30 Club.
Q: The Unlocked Event is full, can I still just show up?
A: It is really important that you register with us as early as possible.
When the event fills up you will be able to sign up on a waiting list. If
you show up the night of the event we will do our best to get you in, but
there will be no guarantee.
1. People who pre-pay have first priority and always gain entry.
2. People who complete the registration form and are going to pay at
the door are guaranteed to get into the event.
3. Waiting list people take priority over anyone who decides to just
show at the door without pre-registering.
4. Show at the door without RSVP. People who risk it will not be
guaranteed entry. Although it is our intention to get everyone into the
party, we simply may not have the space or hardware to accommodate people
who show at the door.
Q: I'm not single, can I still go?
A: Single, divorced, widowed, separated, yes you must be legitimately
single!
